Human beings are clones. Ninety-nine percent of our DNA is identical. 70-80% of which are instructions to build the brain.
Still, most of us do not have a single unique thought that has not occurred before in another brain.
So what creates the immense diversity we see?
Two things:
1.Imagine the brain as software. Every brain contains a few thousand concepts and beliefs and metaphors associated with them. Meaning, beliefs, and metaphors around concepts like money, religion, nationality, understanding or fermions, etc are picked up and assembled from people we meet and books we read. So these concepts can be understood differently and can have different beliefs and emotions about the same thing.
This patchwork software creates differences in quality and responsible for the variety in people’s life.
2.The human brain has a particular area called the fusiform gyrus, and its primary function is to recognise faces. Every species must feel that their group and their young ones are unique; this is achieved in several ways; in ants, it is the smell; In penguins, it is the hearing. And in humans, it is the face. It is a trick to make humans sacrifice for their young, thinking they and their lives are somehow unique.
These are the two key ingredients of the Matrix we live in.
We are just intelligent enough not to see through the game and keep playing it. Not intelligent enough to come up with an alternative to playing this game.
Suppose you read the book The hero with a thousand faces. In that case, it becomes evident that we are all even living out the same story plot easily recognizable by the 17 stages in every story humans tell – even stories of themselves.
Since we do not choose but to live a story, I had decided that the first half of my life’s journey is about building enough leverage to improve the Matrix itself for all players. I did not use the word trying.
Being born in a developing country to an average family means the route instantly takes additional 10-20 years compared to someone who does not have to overcome geography, color, and other limitations. It is now easier with the internet; you can simply go online to escape geography in most cases.
So I did this podcast with Marc, who I like a lot for his wisdom and generosity, talks about my journey so far to realize that first half of my “unique” story. Hopefully, it will inspire someone trying to overcome barriers and create and craft their journey somewhere.
When we did this podcast with Marc, the intention was to share my story so far to inspire their listeners in Africa and elsewhere and hopefully inspire them to start their businesses.
In this podcast, I share the story of
1. How I started making money even before I was 18.
2. My first and only work experience as an intern in France
3. How I started, scaled, and sold my first company.
4. The lessons learned and the regrets.
5. Building the 2nd venture, the backstory of the UPilot.
There is an excellent summary discussion at the end between marc and the team if you want to skip to the last 10 mins.
There is a nice summary discussion at the end as well if you want to skip to the last 10 mins.
