To build a GEM – Implement it as EGM

I will explain what I mean:

When we look at products or companies or brands that break out and grows, three ingredients are common.

Unprompted user engagement – User Growth and then Monetization. I wrote it this way because this is how it should be implemented.

Get one customer and get him fully engaged, crack the engagement first.

Then, growth set up systems so this user brings new users.

Then think about Monetizing.

I have a personal hobby website that has 5 Million users, growing 1 Million users a year. It took me 5 years to get there. It is easy to monetize it – If I decide to – (for now I am still growing it). Monetization becomes easy because there is E&G already present.

We focus too much on the checkout process, whereas the focus should be on the check-in process first. Give value more than anyone else, be patient, people will be happy to pay.

So when you are building a GEM, build it in this order E-G-M
