Mr. San, There is a full lockdown starting from tomorrow.

I was on a call with my team when I muted and took the call. It was from the local police station.

Mr. San, you can go this the Facebook page of defi media you can see the PM is announcing it right now, do you have you some food, etc for tomorrow?

We are fine for a few days, thank you!.

I was feeling very grateful for the call and told Aurelie that these guys are kind, and very organized, and perhaps informing all foreigners.

Then she reminded me…

One year ago in March 2020, we were in full lockdown, we had about 40 N95 Masks at home, we kept 5 for us, took 35, and went to the police station and gave it to them.

We do have a shortage of masks, do you want to take a picture of us receiving them for social media?

“No we are not doing it for the pictures” we answered and we left.

We gave one more mask to the lady who was helping us to move houses, even in the middle of lockdown, and we were down to 4.

We managed very well with those few more shopping trips before the lockdown was lifted and Mauritius was declared covid free.

I had forgotten that incident. They had not!
